| Below you will find the different combinations and hand rankings for video poker games. The examples below are all found on Jacks or Better. Other games have different wins for example double bonus offers bigger pays for certain four of a kinds and deuces wild has wins for a wild royal and four deuces.
These hands however are common to virtually all poker games. The order of the cards is not important with the exception of a sequential royal flush which on some games offers a bigger payout than a regular royal in any order. |
Royal Flush | | The best possible hand. Consists of Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of the same suit. In this example diamonds. | Straight Flush | | Five consecutive cards up to king high of the same suit. In this example you have 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of spades. | Four of a Kind | | Four cards of the same value. In this example you have four queens. The additional card (5) has no effect. | Full House | | Three of a kind and one pair. In the example hand you have three sevens and two aces. | Flush | | Any five cards non consecutive cards of the same suit. In this example you have 2, 6, 7, 8 and Ace of clubs | Straight | | Five consecutive cards of any mixed suits. The example hand shows 8C, 9D, 10C, Jack S and Queen H. | Three of a Kind | | Three cards of the same value and two other cards of different values. In this example you have three tens. | Two Pair | | Two sets of two cards of the same value. In the example you have a pair of jacks with a pair of sevens. | Jacks or Better | | Often the lowest paying hand. Any single pair that is jacks or higher wins. For example J's, Q's, K's or A's. |

Poker Hands Winning To Losing Love
In poker, the showdown is a situation when, if more than one player remains after the last betting round, remaining players expose and compare their hands to determine the winner or winners. To win any part of a pot if more than one player has a hand, a player must show all of his cards faceup on the table, whether they were used in the final hand played or not. The object of poker again is to maximize return on your good hands and minimize losses on your bad hands. You can't afford to play sheriff on every hand just because you think there's a chance, however remote, that another player is bluffing.
